The Institute occupies a 10,000 sq.m. building with space for research laboratories, classrooms, audio-visual facilities, a library, museums (corals and other invertebrates, fish), and herbarium. The Biophysicochemical Technology Incubation Center of the National Science Complex is housed at the Institute. A pilot seaweed processing plant and laboratories for marine colloids are also situated within the campus.
The Bolinao Marine Laboratory, a 5-ha marine station located on the northwestern shore of Lingayen Gulf, has 9 buildings together with facilities for ecological experiments, mariculture, field sampling, diving, lectures and workshops/conferences. Housing is available for resident and transient researchers, students, and workshop/conference participants.
A number of major equipment have been acquired through institution-building grants from the United Nations Development Programme, Australian International Development Assistance Bureau, U.S. Agency for International Development, European Union, Global Environment Facility, Commission on Higher Education, Bureau of Agricultural Research, Department of Science and Technology, as well as through a number of collaborative projects. Oceanographic instruments, field and office vehicles, and small watercraft are also available.
